This Cookie Policy explains how Amelix Solutions LLC (“Amelix,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on the BarterSci website, applications, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.

1) What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. “Similar technologies” include local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, pixels, tags, web beacons, software development kits (SDKs), and device identifiers. We use the term “cookies” in this policy to refer to all of these technologies.

Cookies can be “first-party” (set by us) or “third-party” (set by a Service Provider on our behalf). Cookies can also be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (stored until they expire or are deleted).

2) Categories of cookies we use

A. Strictly necessary

Required to operate the Platform and to provide features you request, such as authentication, session management, security, load balancing, and remembering preferences during a single session. The Platform cannot function properly without these cookies, and they cannot be disabled through our cookie controls. Examples include Firebase Authentication tokens and CSRF/session identifiers.

B. Functional / preferences

Remember choices you make (such as language, theme, or visibility settings) so the Platform behaves consistently across visits.

C. Analytics and product measurement

Help us understand how the Platform is used so we can improve reliability, performance, and user experience. These technologies may include first-party analytics, performance monitoring, and the in-platform behavior event collection described in our Privacy Policy. Where required, we obtain consent before setting non-essential analytics cookies.

D. Security and abuse prevention

Detect fraudulent activity, prevent automated abuse, and protect Accounts and the Platform.

E. Marketing

We do not currently use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising or for building advertising profiles about you. If we ever introduce marketing cookies, we will update this policy and request your consent where required.

3) Your choices

Browser controls. Most browsers let you view, manage, delete, and block cookies through their settings. Each browser is different, so check your browser’s help section for instructions. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break authentication and core Platform features.

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor recognized opt-out signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) where required by Applicable Law. Because we do not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising, GPC primarily affects optional analytics cookies.

EEA, UK, and other consent-based jurisdictions. Where required by law, we will request your consent before placing non-essential cookies and you can withdraw consent at any time.

4) Service Providers that may set cookies

We rely on a small number of Service Providers that may set or read cookies in connection with the Platform. These currently include Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, hosting, database), and may include error and performance monitoring tools. Each Service Provider operates under our written instructions and applicable data processing terms. See the Privacy Policy for additional detail.

5) Changes to this Cookie Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy as our practices and Applicable Law evolve. Updates will be posted with a new “Last Updated” date. Material changes will be communicated as required by law.
